A flibbertigibbet ????

“The greatest way to live with honor in this world

is to be

what we pretend to be.”

Distorted truth
translucent harm
degenerate soul,
full of darkest charm.

Unvarnished lies
disturbed by thought
whispered, not spoken
hidden, not sought.

invisible pain,
unveiled regrets,
desolation masked,
as hearts forget.

Like shattered glass,
the familiar light
of promises frozen,
escape the night.

(All photos are mine…. most were taken in the Smokies a few weeks ago, but the weeping angel is not far from where my father is buried here in town. Obviously, I need to get a tripod cuz I can’t hold the camera still long enough.)

The poem is beautifully written, Keli, (and a bit revealing). The photos are great. Especially like the mountain scene and the angel. 🙂

Thank you Raani for stopping by! I thought of you today as I posted (on Facebook) a picture of my daughter when she was about 6 holding my Maine Coon cat. LOL He was almost half her size. 😀 Give your babies hugs for me… Take care! 😀

Well that is very kind of you to say! I was reading an article earlier that was talking about how so many people who write (or try to write) poetry today have no emotion or feeling in them… They make no impact or real sense. I admit I do wonder if that’s how people think of mine. Sometimes poetry is difficult for the reader to understand what the person writing is trying to say or is thinking about as they write it. I hope mine made sense. LOL 😀 Your little man is really growing up quickly! I love seeing all the pictures when I can, and you always have Great photography on your post as well… Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. 😀

Great poem Keli, as always. Fireworks definitely need a tripod. I do like the interior shot of the benches and the statue.
