It’s the WEEKEND !!!!

Airbrushed Acrylics on Panel

(This is a picture I was sent by a friend years ago. It’s always been a favorite of mine, but I don’t know who deserves the credit for it.  If you happen to know, please let me know so I can link to their work and other pages they may have.)

Lady of Darkness

The Lady of Darkness
now perched on the ledge
her cache of secrets
give her an edge.

Her wild, random thoughts
distort all her words,
familiar laughter
in Silence is heard.

Her perception of Death
and Passion in hand,
she awaits the twilight
to crystallize plans.

Regret intermingles
within Despair’s threads,
obscuring the presence
of Hope in her head.

Retrieving olde memories
of Chaos and Dreams,
she looks to her future
to evade evil schemes.

I’ve made a lot of progress this week and it seems as though things will hopefully be improving soon.

My poetry is like my art, it’s never complete… Every time I read it or see it, I always go back and change something, sometimes it begins to go in a completely different direction. Since it’s been a while since I posted one, I thought I’d add one for you to consider.  I will also put up a photo or two I’ve taken or I especially like, sorry for any repeats.

Have you every been in a jellybean store?  It’s truly amazing how many different colors and flavors they have. No, I didn’t try them because the FUDGE was just across from the jellies. Anyone that knows me knows I adore FUDGE, without nuts.  The fudge and peanut butter together, layered on top of of each other isn’t bad, but sorry, I ate it all before I was able to get a picture. LOL  Guess that could be where the extra 3 pounds came from when I went to the doctor when I got back.  LOL  I was honest and told him I “ate” my way through vacation, meaning I did not hang out on the beach trying to weather my skin like I did when I was young. I use to think it looked sexy, cuz guys did like it, but after a while it makes your skin look think, wrinkled, and leathery, so I stopped that about 7 or 8 years ago.  I still love the beach, and enjoy walking up and down, I just would rather go out and eat or drink something than lay in the hot sun and sweat.

Well, I’m trying very hard NOT to comment on or give my opinion on what’s going on over here in my country. Just saying, I think probably every country has their share of goofballs (weird people). I’ll try to just highlight a some of what I consider bizarre things because someone left their COMMON SENSE on their door step.

1. Nancy Pelosi’s weird tweets lately.  It’s people like her that make me not even want to bother with the tweeting crap. I don’t know if any of you have heard some of her statements, but I’m honestly surprised that she on her buddy there, what’s his name from the Senate, have not spontaneously combusted. Talk about strange… I just don’t understand how some people can purposefully tell blatant lies with a straight face and expect people to believe them. Well, apparently some do, which personally makes me call into question the intelligence & sanity of the people who keep electing them, but that’s just my opinion.

2.Another personal opinion, is that if this administration would use all the money it has used on these ridiculous TV ads and trying to repair that pitiful website, we could get rid of a LOT of debt. I realize that they are trying to appeal to the young people over here and try to get them to sign up, but surely even though they have been indoctrinated, so to speak, aren’t that stupid.  Kinda like they were clapping themselves on the back about kids who could stay on their parents insurance until they were 26.  Yeah, they could, many did, but it would have cost me a small fortune because the premiums and insurance companies considered a parent and a child, a FAMILY.  Family rates were already expensive back then, 3 or 4 years ago. Now, my husband and I have to get completely separate policies because his company offers them a polity. I can’t put him on mine even if what his company offered him was crap. (Luckily for us, it isn’t and he hardly ever gets sick any way).  Oh well…..

3. I’ve just resigned myself to the fact that 95% of the Democrats (and possibly other groups) have decided I’m either a terrorist, a racist, or an idiot….. if not all three.  I must say, I AM really tired of being attacked by my own government if I disagree with their policies or actions.

4. Oh, and WHY in the WORLD does the Government need to claim about 60% of the land in the USA??? Threatening ranchers with snipers and rifles…. stealing their cattle and killing 38 or so…. mostly the mothers because they calves won’t just drink from another cow… it needs it’s mama.  Two mass graves so far…. Cattle shot several times so they suffered, or starved to death.  I didn’t hear whatever the rancher said about Blacks being Negros or whatever, but people need to remember how old this guy is and what people were called when they were growing up. I’m not saying it’s okay or right, but I’m wondering if he just parroted what he was taught as a child, in the 1940′ or 50′s. Just saying, doesn’t make an armed standoff okay.

5. The parent’s and kids who were “escorted” off school grounds because the parent’s did not want them taking the CRCT test.  I agree, there is a lot of cheating concerning those tests. Teachers know their salary and jobs depend on how the kids score on those stupid tests so OF COURSE they teach to the test rather than the child. (I did teach 33 years myself, so I guess I can say I’m positive about that.  That’s why I quit.  Education wasn’t child centered any more, it is all about the TEST scores (some kids just aren’t good test takers, doesn’t make them stupid). Oh well, enough of that.

*My big cat watching the squirrels play in the back yard.

One of the bold fellows scooting across what they think it the squirrel super highway, but it’s really a privacy fence. These little fellows think they own the back yard.  They even go right up to my little dogs food bowl and grab some of his dry dog food and run off with it.

Well I need to go as I have a lot of work to do for a big meeting on Monday. Hope all enjoy your weekend!

Moving poetry stirring the heart. Life is a constant dance of joy and sadness, of light and darkness but in the end, we hope it will lead us to all things happy, peaceful and amazing.

You are so right! Perhaps I have an odd way of thinking, but there must be some dark with the light and good with the bad. Life is what you make of it with what you’re given. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read and comment! I truly appreciate all feedback. :D
