I just wanted to thank every who has been praying from my mom!
We still need your prayers if possible as she is in a precarious place still. They did the surgery yesterday. I was called about 5 pm from the Doc. and told to go get her and get her to the Hospital that they needed to do emergency neurosurgery…. AFTER immediately calling my siblings and cousin (very quickly… good thing they could understand over my hysterical crying) I had to go pick up mom and get her to the Hosp. asap. No one saw this one coming, even though we knew her MRI scan found the blood collection in her head had enlarged. It was a very UN-EXPECTED crisis…
Long story short, I’m exhausted, after having had only 4 hours sleep in the last 3 days. Mom was still not lucid last night when I left the ICU, but they have her heavily sedated since they had to drill two dime size holes in her skull to drain the blood. They don’t fill in these holes, so I can’t even imagine her pain. She is sorta like in a medically induced coma type state. She only opens her eyes for a moment and has only recognized or tried to speak to a a couple of people. I was shocked that she called by name, one person… my husband and tried to sit up to hug him, but she is not to sit up or tilt her head at all, which we didn’t know that yet so luckily the nurse was in there.
It’s hard to see my 82 year old mom like this, but I know she’s a fighter and God does have His plan… whatever that may be. When she told me she told me she saw her mother standing beside her… that tends to give you goose bumps. (Her mom died years ago)

Thank you all for all your prayers and well wishes… I appreciate them SO VERY MUCH and believe in the power of prayer! I need to get off here and get up to the hospital. Love to all….

Hi Keli, I saw your post and dropped over to say you and your Mom are in my thoughts. Rest assured that she won’t be in pain from the procedure on her skull, the brain feels no pain and I’m sure she is sedated enough that she is comfortable. Those in spirit come close at times like this and your Mom will see them, she must really love your husband to call his name. Rest assured that no matter what the outcome she will be in good hands. It’s you I’m worried about, not sleeping will drag you down and I think everyone depends on you, so my friend, look after your needs as well.
With Love from Laurie.
Oh Laurie, thank you so much for the kind words and concern for me. I’m so goofy that I thought I’d see holes in her head. It just never occurred to me that they would cut the skill and pull it back first. She has staples now but she wasn’t too happy that they had to shave almost half of her head of hair. We got creative with a scarf so she doesn’t feel so bad. I appreciate your thoughts and concern. Hugs ~
We are still with you in thoughts and prayers. Please don’t forget to take care of yourself
I am just so sorry to hear this about you and your mother…it is a terrible thing to watch a loved one in pain. Viritual hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what a beautiful and elegant Mom you are blessed with. Prayers across the seas to you all

Dearest Kathy, I am so sorry for all your sweet mother is going through. I am praying for her, you and your entire family. I know how close you are to her. Praying that God keeps her wrapped lovingly in His arms. Praying that her doctors are guided by Him and their expertise. If there is anything more I can do, please, please let me know.
Good to see you here Ann. Thanks for visiting
As you know I am a strong believer in prayer and the grace of God. She is so lucky, even though it seems bad… and it is…. but it could have been so much worse. We have a lot to be thankful for! I just have to keep reminding her of that right now. Hugs ~
Your mom is beautiful…I hope things will be ok.
simply all my prayers to you and your mom, remember to breath.
Benjamin
Good point!
