Thoughts of Before
Amid the quiet chaos,
that is known as everyday life,
beats a heart that still remembers
the grace, the silence and strife.
Those quiet chosen moments
of a limited time from before,
hang loosely there suspended,
like shadows on the floor.
For a time we were young and brave,
rather wild and roaming free,
with gossamer gowns and flowing hair,
and Spirits born to ‘just be’.
with Convention thrown to the wind,
Sweet memories of music too;
and walks on the beach
with friends that you knew,
watching sunsets fade into blue.
Now you know what it is that you seek,
but Perspective has gone out the door
pretending seems so very weak.
as the Promises crumble some more.
