(A wonderful artist from San Paulo, Brazil)

Evolution

 Life quietly awaits

 Anticipation’s alterations.

*

Sacrifice,

not always relegated

to the hollows of Self-Pity,

is easily chronicled

as the greatest gift of Life.

Squander not,

that which is oft distributed unevenly

in conjunction with Timeless Love,

Not unlike Time itself,

it’s voluntarily shared,

without recompense or reparation.

*

Death,

not the conclusion once thought,

but a beginning,

 a new Life.

*

Evil,

with the desperate fury of Hate,

dances blithely,

through the Morality

of human existence.

*

Compassion,

the essence of the Spirit,

stands ready

with quiet purpose fixed,

searching in Silence,

inconspicuously,

for refuge in a pocket,

hidden deep within the Soul.

*

Truth, Honesty and Loyalty

 lay huddled together,

united by Hope

to await the quiet presence

of Faith.

    • Thank you Raani! You and Laurie are always so sweet to stop by and leave such nice comments. I’m trying to catch up on my reading, but I’ve just missed so much1 Hope you are well… & Jake too! :D

  1. Kathryn,
This was my first visit to your site and it was totally enjoyable. First of all, the photos are really nice and very much appropriate to the words they accompany. Now to the words…, there is an exquisite sensitivity to your writing that draws your reader right into the emotion you are expressing. The piece you wrote on “Carmen’s Tapestry” brought tears to my eyes, and that doesn’t happen easily.
    Best to you,
    Paul

    • Well thank you Paul for the very kind words. I appreciate that you were able to feel the emotions I was experiencing through the words I used, my visual pictures usually guide me! That can be a gift and a curse since people can see how you were really feeling when I wrote the piece. Guess I should be happy that they know that not all of the poetry is about me… LOL Thanks again! :D

  2. Beautiful. I stay away from critiquing poetry, since I can’t grasp the difference between an anapest and anti-pasta. You’re words are always finely crafted, and I have always liked the way you shape the words to look good on the page…keeping white space in mind. Lovely !
    Later….
