Adrift
Darkness slowly descends,
to cover and surround,
shallow fog drifts in
and air
is hard to breath.
Gasping,
breath painfully fills lungs
with focused effort.
Face, wet with tears,
or mist,
I know not which.
Hair, wet and haggard,
hangs heavy
draping weary body.
Dress laden with water
weighs down disheartened Soul.
Sorrow infiltrates thought.
Voices ever constant;
drone on and on….
Monotony of sounds,
especially the lies
weigh heavy on fragile shoulders.
arduous is the burden
where hearts are involved,
reforming is difficult,
when all Hope
seems lost.

Painful but beautiful!! I hope you`ll be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon! Your blessings and strenght will take you there Keli!! Take care.
Thank you Nadyess! Your words are kind and appreciated! I hope to be back soon so I can read everyone else’s work. I miss it.
Like the whole concept of your blog. Sounds like you have a Southern Gothic writer in you writing its way out. Keep writing, I’ll keep reading.
Later…
Thanks! As soon as I’m able to settle some family issues, I’ll be back. I appreciate you stopping by and I’ll return the favor just as soon as I can.
So beautiful, Keli!!!!
Thank you Raani. I appreciate your kind words
This sounds so painful and disheartening. But after darkness there’s always light…
There is always a light at the end of every tunnel if you just look hard enough.
Thanks for stopping by!
Keli,
I am praying for you!!!!!
I can’t imagine what you are going through and yet your poem says it all. Wonderful as always. But I pray that you write about the white dove flying over the silver lined clouds very soon!!!
Hang in there buddy!
XOXO
Di
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. ~ Matthew 11:28-30
Thanks so much Diane. I promised another friend I would try to write something of faith soon, so hopefully my brain won’t fail me now..LOL I love Matthew 11:28-30.. How did you know? Thank you for your kind concern and words of encouragement!
Thanks for following my blog. From US, right?
Yes, from the US (South) but I come and go a bit since my mom had a stroke a week or so ago. I love to read but don’t always comment… I do “like” them if I’ve been by.
Good to see you posting again….Love your posts…Hang tough…Never surrender!
Oh thank you! It’s amazing how we find the necessary strength to go on and to deal with the things before us! Thanks for stopping by!
I’m so sorry for the burden you bare. Have my strength have my light take hope and hind piece that tomorrow will be different than today.
Always
Benjamin
Don’t worry about me Benjamin! That is so very sweet, but I’m tough! If I can fight off cancer, I can help my mom with this little set back. God works in mysterious ways… I have faith that this too shall pass! Thanks for caring…
It sounds like your life of the past couple of weeks.
Laurie.
Maybe a little, but mine’s going to definitely have a happy ending! (I hope) Thanks for reading and commenting Laurie!
