If wishes were Horses….

Morning :

*************************************

*Please pray for all of the innocent Syrian victims of the University bombing today and the little children yesterday…

(I will admit that I do not understand when people kill others in their own country when they know they are not warriors)

If Wishes were Horses

“If wishes were horses, the beggars would ride.”

POOF… Blow your wish!

    • LOL… I know. I guess I should say those were the good old days… LOL. We use to get to play cowboys and indians too and nothing was thought of it. Now, I guess it would be a great sin… LOL Thanks for visiting Craig and commenting.. You know me well, so I’m sure I never surprise you with what I choose to blog about.. haha :D

  1. The Hitler comparison is quite valid, a whole country was turned upside down and the people allowed their leaders to take ‘total control’ of their lives. Albeit Germany was left destitute after WW1 and the people, I believe, would have let a lowland Gorilla run the show if they were eating regular again. It goes to show that a down trodden, poverty ridden, lost populace will believe in anything to survive. We need to be reminded now and then about how governments, no matter whose, can and will tighten the noose on its populace to attain their ends.
    Laurie.

    • You are exactly right Laurie! When Hitler first came into power, he was adored and did much good for Germany because it was right after WWI. He tried to bring Pride back to Germany. I don’t know when his mental problems started, perhaps when the power went to his head, as it often does to people who get a little power… even bosses…LOL. But he did Control the populace and that was my point. They were destitute and depended on his every whim so of course they wanted to believe he could turn the world’s view of Germany around. He did, just the wrong way. My husbands family is from Germany so I’ve listened to his 97 year old Grandfather talk about WWII and stories of life before WWII. My mother in law’s mother was one of those blue-eyed blonds taken to the breeding farms. Her dad and his 4 brothers were made to join the German army under threat of death of the rest of their family. His father had already been taken off and killed for trying to help feed the less fortunate.
I think that Obama really believes in what he is doing. It just happens that I disagree with what he’s doing and how he’s doing it. I happen to revere the Constitution and he was brought up with an anti-colonist frame of thinking. Personally, I have taken care of myself for my entire life, and I don’t want the Govt. telling me what to do or how to do it…. but that’s just me, however I know that there are many others who feel the same way. It isn’t a racial thing as they claim, but they are trying to (and have succeeded) in making a class divide.
They knew that the 2% tax was coming to everyone in Jan, yet they blame Republicans. I have voted for both parties in the past, so I guess I’m an Independent. I think both sides got us to this point, but if you look, you can’t help but see that since Obama has become President he has racked up more debt than ALL the other President’s in history, together. That’s a lot…. I just wish they understood that you can’t spend your way out of this and making people dependent on the government is a classic step needed in a take over of a Country. It isn’t just Obama by any means… there are many up there who agree with him, but that’s because they are the wealthy in Washington. They get to keep their insurance for life (it’s not like ours, it’s better and it’s free) and they get their same salary for the rest of their life too. Half of them don’t even pay their taxes, so it’s easy for them to say do this or do that because they know it won’t touch them. Sorry for the long response… LOL You know me, once I get going… haha Be well and have a great day. :D

      • Great response Keli, people easily forget how things were in the world. As to taxes, our politicians get their retirement benefits when they leave office, everybody else has to wait until they are 65. Just a tad unfair.:-)

        • Just an update… I talk to my mother-in-law who grew up in Germany and still has family there including her dad the 97 yr. old WWII veteran. She said that YES, they did to confiscate the guns from the general public. …only the SS, the German Army and Hitler’s youth brigade. (Besides the were brain washed about ow great Hitler was and even went against their own parents.)

True… we wait till 65, but can get it at 62 but it’s a lesser amount (unless they’ve changed that). In actuality, they hope you die within 5 years of getting your Social Security. The do tax it by the way, so I don’t understand why they can’t tax Welfare checks. LOL But, that’s just me… :D

          • Thanks Keli, that’s interesting. People don’t want to listen about the past about how it was. It is just so easy to fall back into old ways of thinking. And yes the first thing any government does if they are going to do unpopular things is disarm the populace. Been going on since Roman times.
As to retirement benefits, they tax you before they’re taken from your wage and tax it again when it’s paid to you. I’m extremely lucky I receive a pension for my war caused disabilities and it isn’t taxed at all. Although I saved them a lot of money by working way past what I should have.

            • You’re right Laurie, And the jockeying around for World domination does go back to the beginning of time and disarming the populace and integration into their society, whichever it be, are popular places to start.

i know what you mean about the taxes, the tax it going in and tax it coming out as Social Security. They also tax our retirement we have put away…. LOL. Luckily I have never counted on actually getting SSN because by the time I can get it, it will most likely by gone unless the really do some immediate house cleaning… targeting the fraud would be a good place to start….LOL

I tease my mom and tell her my step-dad is getting all of my SSN and my dad’s (who died 2 weeks after he turned 55). My step-dad is 97 and going… it started in the mid 30′s and he retired at 65 or so, so you know he never put in much…LOL.
Problem is, he never saved for retirement because he believed the government’s promise of his SSN being enough to take care of him. HA….

            • The sad thing apparently is – nothing has changed – no amount of restructuring, revolution, promises and platforms change the fact that – as ordinary everyday people we are being lied to and manipulated.
Anyone born here after 1974 won’t get the aged pension neither. It was part of our constitution between the fed and state governments. The gov in the eighties changed it. My thoughts exactly – HA.

            • Yes, I thought it was changed in the 60′s when they replaced the word Republic with Democracy. They did that in a very sly manner, but most people don’t even think about it.

  2. I don’t agree with the comparison of Hitler and gun control. Otherwise we could make other connections that are equally off the wall. I am not saying I agree with the gun control either but it is sorta like using the example, “my mom yelled at me and I turned out okay.” “I was raped and I turned out okay.”

    • I was trying to make the comparison between what Hitler’s Germany became after so many of the people lost their rights. I don’t believe he rounded up the guns, but I know he burned any book that disagreed with what he thought was “Good Germany”. I’m talking about the BIG ISSUE, to me it’s CONTROL over the populace, not just gun control… but they are creeping in and taking and taking. I agree with you about moms. Boy did I get in trouble if I did something wrong when I was a kid (my grandfather was a minister). But unfortunately now, with so many single parent families or families where both parents work every possible hour, the kids are left at day-cares, with sitters or alone. I’m sorry you were raped, but I’m glad you turned out ok… and you have a great sense of humor to boot. I am also a survivor of a violent crime, and I’m okay, but I do have a strong Faith that helps me. I know that not everyone feels the same way however. :D Thanks for the comment Becca. Always nice to hear from you…

    • Oh good… My grandmother use to always tell me to make a wish when I found one of those little puff balls…. and so I was thinking about her, and one of her favorite sayings was the one I wrote under it. We were not wealthy by any means when I was small and my grandmother lived with us from the time I was in 3rd grade until I left home getting married.. :D Hope your wish comes true… but remember, you can’t tell anyone what it is… :D

    • Hahaha…. Sometimes I just can’t help it. My kids tell me that I just have problems with lazy people and stupid people (not meaning the mentally challenged ones) meaning the ones who COULD learn, but decide in about 3rd grade that they don’t need to and yet they expect to walk into a company an get a high paying jobs. (I don’t mean everyone of course) But the entitlement society is going to break the back of this country if they keep this up. Thanks for stopping by! :D

    • Don’t I wish!!!! But…. if wishes were horses….. LOL We need fewer laws and Regulations and they need to actually follow the laws that we have… They don’t have to, but we do or they’d put us UNDER the jail…. Thanks for popping by e. Hope you have a great week! :D
