Humanity
Transparent wishes,
stoic silence,
inspirational thoughts of wisdom,
souls drained of contentment
fragile solitude slowly eroding,
insecurity of the heart
fades Colors of
unselfish respect, and
fractured memories of prophecy.
Unfathomable accusations
of fear and deceit
plague
purity without cause.
Secrets,
Trust,
bloated sensations of Torment,
unreal fantasies,
substitutionary death, and
acknowledgement of self
in isolation,
is all that seems left.

This is amazing… even though it did make me sad… somehow… was that the way it should be?
I still love it though!!
It made me sad at first when I saw the picture, but I was trying to to get across the message of never giving up hope. God is always near… at least He takes care of me and keeps me out of too much trouble.
I like the social /political authenticity you are describing in your blog and that you have statistics to match. All Governments are corrupt, as they will always protect secrets and support lies, artists, poets writers and teachers are the keys to revealing the truths behind the shadows. Keep on blogging!
Thank you….
I appreciate you stopping in to read and take the time to comment…

As I stated already:
I am in an artistic mode this evening, and would not like to think in great detail regarding the events or other aspects of this post. I sense this kind of frustration in many many people–even, paradoxically, those would disagree with all of the above. Which, in and of itself, is a sign that, regardless of any indoctrination we may or may not have received, we are still not so different as some would think (or perhaps hope that such differences should be a lever with which to divide us.)
That is an impressive array of content for one post. I feel like I just took some sort of long journey. I really like the poem. Cheers.
LOL…. It’s an addiction (Politics) and I’m trying to ignore it… obviously not doing too well though. Thanks for taking the time to stop by to read… I envy the fact that you’re able to say so much with so few words…
I first learned the art of being long-winded. Then I learned to be precise. It was only then, that I was able to begin to learn to say more with less. I still have much to learn.
Ohhhh, I must still be stuck in the “talkative” phase… LOL. Once in a while I make, but they still tend to be longer than some. Thanks for letting me know about your process… I’ll try to keep moving right along.
In the interest of full disclosure that process began almost twenty-five years ago. I still have a long way to go.
LOL…. yeah well…. I’m sure I have a LONG way to go…
Beautifully written freeverse. I am reblogging this, I think. Very courageous to begin with a quote from Ayn Rand, or any individualist or romantic realist, for that matter.
LOL… thanks!
I do not usually feel confident in free verse, though I like it a lot when I read it. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I have enjoyed many of Ayn Rand’s works, but it hasn’t been extensive.
I appreciate you stopping by to read and comment! Thanks for the reblog too. As most that know me know, I write my own opinions most of the time, but I do try to make sure most things are accurate even if they are only my opinion. I’m not sure about the number’s though and quite honestly, I’ve been battling a head-ache all day, and just didn’t feel like researching it myself. I’m sure someone will correct me if it isn’t.
No worries there, for my part. I do hope your headache has by now improved. This was quite nice freeverse. One needs a sense of balance to write such verse; otherwise, it can seem like it is so written for no apparent reason.
Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement. I appreciate them more than you know. I hope I have a sense of balance, I do strive for that.
You are quite welcome. And I am glad of the encouragement of my words, and for your appreciation of them. I believe you do indeed have a sense of balance that might be described as ‘musical.’ However, an application of Bayes Theorem would predict that those with whom you differ greatly, would not be able to perceive it, except when placed directly in stark contrast to one who does not have such a sense of balance.
LOL… Well thanks…
That sounds about right cuz I keep finding the ones I differ with… LOL
: )
There’s much I don’t understand about why the government does what it does sometimes either…that may very well be a mystery that’s never solved…but I always enjoy and look forward to reading what’s going on in the news here as well as your wonderful poetry!
Rachael
Thank you Rachael… I think if they would actually publish ALL that is attached to a bill then we would know why they voted the way they did, but they don’t.
I don’t understand how or why Pres. Obama keeps on by passing Congress with executive privilege… He has said he will use it to ram in his gun control (which will only control the honest people and not the criminals…. that’s why they’re called criminals) That’s not legal…. but he doesn’t seem to care. He completely ignores the Constitution… And Pelosi and others saying that the 14th amendment will let him just do the debt ceiling himself without the Congress & Senate even having a chance to vote on. He used that to get Obamacare pushed through when at least 60% of the public didn’t want it.
Oh well…. we shall see. Hopefully HJ Res15 doesn’t pass. That takes away the 2 term limits for Presidents.
Sorry… obviously I get passionate about Justice and Politics or vice versa..LOL Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! i finally figured how to get to the blogs on the new Reader. You have to click on the title to get their page to open up so you can leave a comment. I guess my brain was just muddled yesterday…
I’m with you on the public being aware of everything that is attached to bills that pass…and I’m not particularly fond of them doing away with the 2 term limits either, which they’ve kept very quiet about.
Glad you happened to mention clicking on the title, they didn’t really look like a link to me, so I never tried that. I’ve been basically going all the way around my elbow to get to my thumb as they say to get to blogs, now that I know that, it won’t be so hard to get to everyone’s blogs…Thanks again!
Rachael
LOL… yeah, well….. they always keep the really nasty things quiet or they do it on a Friday afternoon late when everyone is tired and waiting for the weekend. Guess they figure no one will pay attention…LOL
And as far as the new Reader goes… it was a total fluke that I found it. LOL… I was clicking on everything out of pure frustration….
Just saying….lol Yeah im not even going to get into the deficet. Makes me so mad at our goverment, not just our current president cant figure out how to make America great again insted of a country divided. Makes me sick that we give so much aid to countrys that hate us when we have ppl staving in our own country not to mention senators that didnt vote for aid going to our own ppl(Sandy relief). oh im not going to go on because I could write a book on this subject. Your poem tonight seemed wraught with disappointment and sedness, Im sorry if those feeling stem from anything other than our current state of debt. Be well.
Benjamin.
I know, I think a lot of people feel the same way, but after talking with my congressman, he explained that the weren’t voting against giving aid to the Sandy Relief, they were voting against all the OTHER expenditures that were tack on to it because they thought that surely it would pass. I believe the congress voted the next day on some Sandy Relief, but I don’t know if it got through Senate. The Senate seems to stop just about every single bill passed by Congress. They haven’t even had a budget in 3 years or more… Oh well….
I don’t understand all the money going out to other countries, especially when we have to borrow to give it away and WE are stuck paying for it all with our Taxes. I know some have said that we are “propping up” the economy of other countries because if theirs fell ours would too…. perhaps, I honestly don’t know. I personally don’t think they should give arms to other countries either, because 9 times out of 10 as soon as they get them, they hate us too and then they just turn out later, to be the very group that we were suppose to be fighting against… The terrorists killing other Americans.
We can want to help change other countries to give women more rights, but we can’t do it by ourselves… we aren’t Guardian of the world. They have to want the change and participate in the change themselves. No one can go in and just do it for them, no matter how much you would like to or how badly you feel for the women, children & elderly.
I’m shutting up now…. LOL
The poem is one I wrote several years ago and it describes exactly how I felt at that time, but I just re-worked parts of it to make todays…. (You know, like some artists can’t ever really finish something…they always see something they want to change.)
I think you covered the real inconvenient truth about whats going on with our Government and the world in general . You said it well ! I can find nothing to disagree with in your writing today . I can only sadly agree ..
Well I’m sure I’m far from perfect, but every single country on this planet has had their turn of stupid things. Things that were once easily accepted in all societies is now thought to be horrendous (and it was), but people forget that when those things happened, that was the norm… not necessarily something we would do or even agree with now. In other words… I guess you could say we’ve all sinned at some time or other, so we might want to “walk a mile their shoes” (so to speak) before we begin spitting out venom. Thanks for taking the time to read and then leaving the comment. I appreciate your time!
